Road Trip with a Gun

Yup. Last time I went to Oregon, I went to a gun shop to buy a box of ammo. My aunt wanted me to teach her how to shoot better. The owner of the gun shop saw my Cal D/L, and I showed him my PD badge, and he just laughed, saying he would not sell me one single round. This is my final time I ever went into that godaweful state.

I hear if you go anywhere east of Eugene they basically ignore the laws. Same for Washinton state. Anywhere east of the Pacific coast influence is a "free state".
Or so I've heard. 🤔

Last time I went up to help my aunt, I didn't have an issue.
Stopped in Medford, Roseburg, Eugene. Never had to show ID
Of course the laws may have changed.

I had previously stated ever changing laws.

Next time I am up in Brookings in a couple weeks I will give it a shot.

I just want the freedom to pick a box up off the shelf.

And @Havasu, you live in a gawdawfull state as most of us do.

My second house is near Brookings.

I go there to buy California Ground Squirrel poison that you can't buy in CA.
California isn't going to slide into the Ocean from an earthquake, but from uncontrolled ground squirrel erosion.

I did a road trip with my buddy to Bend, OR a few months back, mostly for vacation, but we did have a chance to meet up with some of his family who escaped CA into Eastern OR (Prineville and Terrebone). I found the state to be wonderful in terms of, well, the earth sciences; but socially its as f'ed up as CA, at least in the larger cities. I had a lot of fun drinking beer in Bend, but OR is enough like CA I won't be going back unless things change drastically.
