What do you mean by that?
I'm not sure I want to eliminate it, it's one of the few lands we can know for certain we can hunt on, and I think we need to play that into our favor more. The law states that hunting is legal on BLM land as long as you're 150 yards from the road, and don't shoot across the road.
As it happens, the Black Forest sits between Buckingham Park and Mount Konocti, as Soda Bay Rd. runs along there. From Soda Bay Rd. to Konocti, it's legal to shoot as long as you don't shoot across the road, so into the mountain direction is legal. As such I will need to try that next year, as I didn't realize it was BLM land, a friend pointed that out.
Although, private property is the best as fish and wildlife can't actually set foot on that land to make sure you have a tag and/or if the game has been eating any of your crops (a broad term, IMO). I'm pretty certain there's some corruption in California in regard to poaching game on private land. There is also a lot of large private land areas in California.
If you were to exterminate the land, what would you do to it? Would you make it public land? Because it's the public land that some of the current bills are trying to sell. Should the state sell it to legal residents? I hadn't thought about that aspect, to be honest. Everything in California is a money grab, when it comes to real estate...
