I believe it is, although not mine. What do you think is illegal about that?

I personally do not think that set up is legal in the Kommunist Republik unless you have a CCW.
I will relate an incident a couple months ago.
Going though some Redwood forests on the 101. Passed a couple of bikers while pulling a trailer. One bike was definitely having an issue going up a hill. And they did not take kindly to me passing them.
For 20 miles , they would come up on my tail and not pass me. High alert for me. I reached around and pulled my 9 case out. Locked and loaded it.
Those bikers followed me for 50+ miles. I know I was not legal being locked and loaded. But I was going to protect myself. They passed me in Ukiah then I passed them pulling over in Hopland .
I don’t care what the laws are, I will protect myself. Maybe they thought better of messing with a redneck driving a 2500. They finally passed me in Santa Rosa.

I agree, without a CCW, it can't be loaded in a vehicle, so it's useless. @alan said that's temporary, so not sure what his plans are.

An unloaded firearm is a useless firearm. I have several through out my house that are not useless. My wife knows it and I try to train her
Driveway alarm was going off. She knew to arm herself. I always say 911 is an hour away, they made it in 45.
I was 400 miles away and in contact with a Sherrif that lives up the road. He was going to send his kids down to check until I let him know she was armed .
We let LEO handle it. Driveway alarm ($40)finally bit the big one after 6 years.
You can’t be more safe than sorry.

Appreciate y'all! Just to clarify, this is only a temporary setup, and I’m just using it for quick grocery runs. I definitely don’t want to get caught up in anything serious. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Why is that unsafe, though? There are a number of door holsters similar to how you have that mounted.
