Because stopping buying guns and ammo out of state wasn't enough, you may find it hard to get parts from vendors that just will not deal with Calif. due to the newest Assembly Bill 1263 that goes into effect at the end of the year.

This is complete BS, it's basically wanting to run background checks on parts, and track it with your DL. I don't have a Real ID, but my local FFL told me I can use my DL and my passport. I wonder if bullets are going to be having tax added to them??? I wonder if all of this stuff gets the 11% tax on top of local tax?

Looking at my email, I got one of those and it was unread, they sent it at midnight, on the dot! LOL

We are going downhill in a handbasket on our 2A. The past couple days are not looking good...which is par for the course in CA.

I just forwarded this email to McGuire Ballistics, asking if they're going to have a black friday sale, so people can stock up before the new infringements come our way. I'll post in this thread if they respond.

I do buy quite a bit of stuff from Midway as I like their free shipping on $100 orders. Not very hard to spend $100 these days...

I expect they'll be an injunction filed Jan 2nd, then off to 9th, etc. Hopefully, the injunction will remain in force through the litigation.

That's what I'm slightly afraid of...in your scenario, the 9th district will drag it out for years...and they won't give us any of the extra taxes back they take in the meantime...it's really a lose-lose scenario for the residents as it all plays out. I'm just a resident, so calling it like I see it.

I haven’t received that email from Midway but I have seen that bill introduced. Didn’t know it passed. I thought the barrel one took a couple years to go into effect

Increasingly worthwhile to have mailbox etc. account in another state. Not just for 2A items, other item as well garden chemicals, rat bait, leaf blowers etc.

That's the thing about California. They have some type of bill that was passed that if the Governor doesn't veto it, it goes through automatically. Yes, this seems completely unconstitutional, but that's the way it is.

January 1st, 2026, just about 5-6 Weeks from now...that will require that all barrels are sold through an FFL with background check, and an additional 11% tax for that privilege.

IMO, this enforces having an entire house in another state. I just don't think I can do that easily just yet. I don't plan to buy anything except more bullets. I will reload until I die...

$400 a year for an out of state shipping address and gas to get there. Thats what I pay to have a mailing address now because the post office won’t deliver to my house. I just get there immediately in times like freedom week.

I am throwing out a cheaper option than moving. I have had things like car parts shipped to my aunt. Think somebody here and I had a conversation about a camper faucet we couldn’t get in CA.

The amount of things banned by the Kommunist Republik is getting ridiculous. When I move up north, we are going to split a Mailbox ETC with another couple, it’s only 8 miles to the border

Can't you get delivery where you're at? We don't have too much in Lake County, so I have to order quite a bit to my P.O. A few places won't ship to the P.O., and in that case I ship to my rental.

Can you get Amazon, FedEx, UPS, and USPS to ship to you? I thought they will deliver to any address in California.

Post office won’t deliver because they have to drive though 2 other towns to get here and they say road is dangerous. Fed Ex is unreliable because things get delayed to the Saturday guy. Most others won’t come up the road or leave it 3 miles away. UPS is the only reliable one, but who knows which shipper is being used.

Thats why I said Mailbox Etc.type. it is a street address with a number, not a PO Box. I had it on my license and could still pass the ammo and gun background check. Because it’s not a PO Box.

Ah, now I get it...that's why I was declined to pickup a box of Weatherby 270 mag ammo at Sportsnman's Warehouse, I had my old address on my DL. I spent about $25 extra, but invested in a set of dies and bullets.

Do they give you a physical address? I've only ever had P.O.Boxes. Kelseyville Lumber told me as long as my DL has my P.O. Box, and I have a passport, I'm ok to buy through them.

The other thing is to have my DL address changed to my Rental address. But I don't want this address on my DL. This is my landlord's home, I wanna get out of here ASAP. There's a Pack and Mail by me, but I checked with them, and they provide a box number so ammo is out.

That is messed up...I have clean road up to my property, and at my rental if I leave the gate open, they will leave stuff at my door of my rental unit. The USPS has large lockers so if I have something like a scope or a stock, they can put it in the locker. I'm waiting on another Manners stock I will make a standard bolt face rifle, but I need to make the action first.

I haven't posted any gunsmithing threads yet, but I will. I have 4 bolt action blanks. 2 are stainless short actions, 1 is a 375 CheyTac for ELR, and the last one can be a magnum tactical that will most likely be 7mm BC, I'm intrigued with the steel case and 80,000 psi.

I don't even know where to get blanks anymore, the two guys I got mine from went out of biz. 🤷‍♂️

All of my roads were redone recently with Government funding, AFAIK. All the way into the USPS is clean/new asphalt. I'm feeling guilty now...in your case you can receive everything except firearms and ammo, right?

Unfortunately my driveway to my property is about the steepest I have seen. The water district put these boulders to prevent me from accessing my property. Board will vote on settlement offer, which is pittance from what they must be spending.

USPS won't give me a mailbox until I have a final permit, they tell me. 🤷‍♂️ That used to be my original encroachment that they put the boulders in (and they're illegal as they're in the public roadway currently). I had a contractor cut the new encroachment next to the original. In the settlement we're not allowed to go on each other's property, that includes employees, past, present, and future, contractors, and anyone ever involved in it, and I have to exonerate all of the people, including a guy across the street that hassled every contractor I've had work on it. This is 1/2 mile from my rental.

Like so many things Grusom is doing, it just doesn't make sense. I read this twice, expecting a different read. Didn't happen. I used to buy ammo from Midway and ship it to a friend's house in AZ, then shoot it there. I didn't mess with it much, but it thinks I live in CA and won't allow me to put the AZ address in. I am a computer lop, so this may just be me.
The fix: find another vendor. Or learn to reload 22 LR.
Some more cool stuff coming from team Marxist. A $500 tax will be slipped into our property tax for the coming year. It will create a much-needed recyele division putting boots on the ground with official Trash Police.. To enforce proper placement of trash with crazy fines to the dummy that puts glass in trash or trash in the recycle bin. Crap. Crap. Crap.

Steve,

Believe it or not, I had to ship some Caribou game bags to Idaho through Midway and he shipped them to me. Evidently there's something in the fabric that is not allowed in California! I have large game quarter bags, and hopefully they will last.

I have a physical address that the county taxes but sends bill to my box.
DMV asks my physical address but wants my mailing address. I have since changed that address to up north. Got me cheaper insurance on my vehicle.

USPS is like a fiefdom with their addresses. The 12 neighbors tried the box at the bottom of the road idea. But the post office we are technically in refused to give up territory to another postmaster and refused to drive through 2 other post office territory to deliver to it. This has been a 50 year battle since the original ranch was subdivided. Most people just get a PO Box at the closest office. But one was recently turned down on a pistol on a PO box she has had for 50 years.

My mail pick up spot says put Apt. #, Suite #, or just the # so they know. Fortunately after 7 years they know us.

During a freedom 4 days, I recieved my package from Midway. I picked up within an hour.

What county is your property in? I know some people are picky about shipping to non-p.o. boxes., and some aren't. As an example, Midwestboots will only ship to an address, not a P.O., and Origin USA in Maine will ship to a P.O. Sometimes it depends on the county, but in the case of our Government, they seem to do it just to delay us...
