Your favorite mags

I tend to trust brands that supply the military or law enforcement. It doesn't mean they're perfect, but it usually means theirs has been through some serious testing.

Duncan is fully ripe. 2nd time before the court. Only thing missing is a Circuit court split
I thought they have a split. Benitez ruled in favor, but they put it up before an En Banc and they ruled it was constitutional. That's totally unfair, IMO. The AG should beat some sense into those En Banc POSs.🗽🇱🇷🗽

St. Benitez is a district court judge out of San Diego. 9th circus tries to overrule all his good rulings.

We need a another circuit to rule in favor of standard capacity magazines to get a circuit split

I think that goes both ways, that Benitez also likes to rule in favor of the 2A because the 9th is known to be so unfavorable to the 2A. I hope Trump nominates Van Dyke to SCOTUS, if Alito retires. Benitez would be another good nominee, but Van Dyke is 2A smart, also.

Saw on 4BoxesDiner, the DC district court ruled mag bans are unconstitutional.

Because they are essentially a State Supreme Court, this creates a split for the Supreme Court to take Duncan V Bonta.
Indeed they did, I posted a link in the fed forum. I'm curious how California will wiggle out of this, they're good at that... 🗽 I don't see CA giving us this win.:(

They will fight it tooth and nail. The Supreme Court will finally have to take a stand.

Then CA will try to find a way to take away our rights.
I've been saying we could see a HUGE change in CA, but it never seems it will happen. I keep flip-flopping between "it's happening", and "show me". I really have suppressors at the top of my list, I just don't take that much ammo with me hunting. IMO, 4 is plenty. 3+1 in the chamber.

Funny though...I don't feel threatened in any way at Clear Lake. I have to wonder if I'll need to give up CA at some point, but I can't leave just yet. So many things on the verge of change, tax wise.

I just settled this yesterday for my contractor to move the water district's boulders back to their property. Now I should be able to live there for the remainder of my life. It is my dream for lack of better. My contractor just put a deposit on 330 acres, and a lease comes with it to hunt on the adjacent 330 acres. I get to hunt it with him, for bear. He's certain we can get bear and deer there.

There's a lot of game this year. The rain must be having an effect. I brought my pellet rifle over and get it dialed in, for Turkey this year.

They will just declare it, and that makes it so. They will plow over our rights to take anything away from us that they can. They will pull something out of their arse that says they can do so. :(

Anyone else thinks Bonta looks like a frog during a proctology exam?
No he looks like a guy ready to go down with Asian collaborators in Oakland but that no Germaine to this forum.

@KonoctisWigwam this is one of 4 boxes better explained. Sometime he loses me in legalese

Let me tell you about the 2nd to last time I bought ammo in this state. It was when you couldn’t touch it out of the case but before background checks. SJ BPS gun manager walking to the case to get my box. Away from cameras I said this is BS. He said in a supporting way ”this is what the people of CA voted for”
Last time I bought anything in that store.. Think that was in 2017-18. I enjoy my road trips.

EW,

There's a lot of cases in our favor, just not clear how they will settle in California.

This is really leaning in our favor on ammo background checks. Not clear what will happen on the 11% we get taxes on ammo just yet, but 8 republican justices and 3 democrat has to be the best we've had with an en banc panel in the 9th.

Rhode v Bonta will sit before the SC like Duncan is now.
Only hope is cases out of NY to get a circuit split with the 2nd. NY followed CA but didn’t say hold my beer. Only reason it didn’t affect my kid in NY, he is LEO

KW they are all in our favor. The 9th circus just s@ck$ this states phallic symbol.
I have to agree, but this time it seems they have a lot stacked up against them. If we can win the Rhode v Bonta and then get suppressors on top of it, that would be great. Actually, I would be happy with just suppressors, that would be epic to be able to use a suppressor while hunting.😋

I hope Justice Van Dyke is on the en banc panel for Rhode v Bonta. It really feels like it's all closing in on the unconstitutional 9th district.

Next time you see that herd of Elk up there, tell 'em I'm coming for 'em.

Last trip back to ranch CC, Elk Meadow, 2 herds either side of Orick, Elk campground , Laytonville, and Willets. Almost the grand slam. Missing 2nd herd in Laytonville

We will see what tomorrow brings back to ranch.

When the draw comes next month (April 15th), I'm putting in for 2 draws. One for Lake Pillsbury, and one for B1/north (if that is an option). If I don't get drawn, I'll get 2 extra next year, but I think it's only about $400 if you can draw the tag.

Where would you suggest to enter draw in the Orick area? Is there public land up there?

Orick area is where I see the most herds between Elk Meadow, Orick proper, Elk campground .
A lot of state and federal land in that area.
Remember I see them along the 101. IDK where you can hunt.

If you are lucky enough to get a tag. Spend the $ to get a guide. Cabins and/or camper space available at all 3.

Had a friend that did a XCountry trip from NY to Moab a couple years in a row. Got an over counter license. Got a guide that pointed him him to an area and a horse to get there. He was successful 2/3 years
That’s my advice.

I'd really like to get a tag for Lake Pillsbury, it's a lot closer to me. Cache Creek Wilderness is a possibility also, and they do allow horses and mules.
