My bedroom gun is a Ruger GP100. It has a 4.2" barrel.

Since I've had two of my police officer brothers be involved with accidental shootings involving children, as a reminder, the law is very specific and if you have small children, please really think of what would happen to your family if a child was to grab your home defense weapon. I use a fingerprint biometric safe, which I can access in about 1/2 a second.

I keep a Remington 870 in a fast open safe next to my bed. It has a light built into the stock. I also have an assortment of "cutlery" at hand in case there's no time to pop open the safe.

Depends on which side of the bed.

Wife's side a 5 shot semi she is very capable with.
My side a 9m and a rifle that fits in the drawer.

We are the only two in the house, so I don't have to worry about safe storage laws.
When you are an hour from 911, you think of things differently

I keep a s&w 5906/9mm with a spare mag on my bed rail, my wife has an SP101/357 stoked with HST 38 specials' in her night stand. We have no kids in the house but lock the guns in a safe before we leave for work in the mornings.
Sometimes, I may have a Beretta 92 brig in place of the 5906…these guns are accurate and powerful and we are very familiar with them so they make good sense to us….cheers
