My takedown rifle changed how I travel with a firearm

I have a takedown rifle in 9m. From everything I read it was resighting it is nessesary after reassembling it. But I can toss it in a backpack.

Not a primary hunting rifle , like you are suggesting. But everyone suggests resighting after transport anyway for a rifle for hunting.

Once I bought a gun case to carry a 3 ft antique test tub stand and rod. You should have seen the airports jumping hoops. Had to show my ID to get that case in Burbank, and it wasn’t even a gun.

Takedowns are convenient, but yeah, always verify zero...airports treating everything like a bazooka never surprises me anymore.

Flying with a long gun is doable but it’s not always convenient. A quality takedown rifle in a normal-looking hard case made everything easier with less attention, simpler packing, easier storage. If you travel often, it’s worth considering.
Nothing like a rifle that packs like luggage..suddenly TSA feels less like a scene from a crime show.

When I get my shop setup, I want to build a short barrel bolt action, but the way the law is going, I want to wait and see what the Feds decide and/or the SCOTUS.

I have hunted previously with a 300 blackout, but currently don't want to use any AR style rifles due to the law with short barrel rifles. I would be happy to be able to hunt with a suppressor, though.
