As some of you get to know me, you'll realize what a crazy person I am, if you haven't noticed that already.

25 years ago, I worked on the Kerbango Internet Radio, it was the first of it's kind. This was the pre-cursor to the iPhone.

We were acquired by 3Com, and unfortunately I thought this was my meal ticket in life, but as it turned out, the Napster case went down in the middle of our project. As such, 3Com dumped this project along with another called Audrey that was a kitchen device. Audrey ran on dial up modem and the Kerbango ran on Cat 5 Ethernet. Everywhere this radio was shown, it left the people barefoot...IOW, it knocked their socks off. Both Cisco and 3Com were fighting over buying it, and it sold to 3Com (as they were floundering) for $80M. I didn't get as much as the founders, but was able to start my log home project with the stock I got...I used half of it after the dot-bomb to support my family.

Several of the other engineers went out and bought new cars and motorcycles, but I bought my property at Clear Lake. I got an equity line on my home and wrote a check for it. Price was $94k, back in 2000. This property was recorded in my wife and my names on our daughter's 5th birthday, September 18th, 2000.

Now I struggle to get the log shell moved onto the foundation to get the home dried in, but here's a good overview of the shop and the project in general. This is before the Water District put boulders in the original encroachment. If you click on this picture, it will take you to my substack post on my shop, there's a couple videos there that show the property and discuss the project.
