Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for a trustworthy gunsmith nearby. If you've had any custom jobs or repairs done, I'd love to hear who you recommend and what kind of work they did!

Location would be appreciated, as California is about 750 miles long. I have driven more than half the state at once, several times...good gunsmiths are hard to find. Very few in the SF Bay area left...

I spoke with Craig Maraviov yesterday, and I'm going to have him thread a couple barrels for me. He's located in Woodland, CA. There is no gunsmith in Lake County, and my local FFL recommended him. Craig requires that 3 weeks once you leave the barrels with him...I'd rather leave barrels than rifles though...

No affiliation with Craig yet, and I don't have a lathe setup at the moment. After I spoke with him, I feel comfortable having him thread the barrels.

He does the work at his home. If it is a lathe cut, he takes it to a machine shop, in the City of Industry, which specializes in rifle/pistol modifications.
So I guess I'll need to finish these myself, or send them to the City of Industry...

Per the GCA68, unlicensed individuals have the right to manufacture firearms for personal use, nothing else required. On the left is a tactical blank for a 375 CheyTac, and that's a PTG bolt. The other is a short action Rem 700 blank (round), but that bolt is not mine, I have a PTG bolt for that also. I have 4 bolt action blanks, and currently 3 PTG bolts. The bolt on the left is a Stiller style bolt that PTG made. I have one standard and one magnum PTG bolts for short actions.
