Not to hijack another thread.

What are your plans?

With all the recent civil unrest. Has your plans been changed?

I use to go to Paramount once or twice a year for business. I like goat tacos and the Guadalajara Birrieria is a favorite of mine. Of course the unrest there doesn't surprise me.

Unfortunately, nowhere to "bug out" to. Also, only so much room for supplies in a 1500 sq. ft. House. The wife is not as concerned with prep, so I can only pack in so much.

I here you. It would certainly be hard to bug out when SHTF, but I just keep it in mind local places I could get to easily. Obviously, keeping fuel tanks on the vehicles at least half full always helps.

I am set up to bug in. 1st house 7 miles from the freeway. Very Large propane tank. They got to find me.

Civil unrest happens nightly in the closest major city 45 minutes away. I will have plenty of warning time and freedom seeds to greet em.

Horseback is my bug out option.

Living at the end of a cul de sac, and having a million gallon water tank 100 yards from me, makes me think would be safer to bug in rather than bug out. Could you imagine the road traffic in the time of need?

We have been evacuated 6 times in the past 10 years due to fires. Living in the foothills means two roads to get in or out of our area. The fire department usually closes one of the two roads because of the fires or to use it only for emergency vehicles. We have spent hours trying to merge into traffic just to get out of our neighborhood. Most people don't think of this until the need is there, plus you will probably be moving a number of vehicles and family members are separated as they are all driving or in different vehicles.

The time our dam was failing and they evacuated our town for a week was a different experience. Since we live just above the dam we were told to shelter in place. After a couple of days I drove down our road to get supplies. I was stopped by our Highway Patrol. They said I could leave, but they would not let me return until the evacuation notice was lifted. That didn't happen for another 3 days. We were glad we had enough supplies, but power had been shut off. We had enough gas to keep the generator running the whole time.

These were things we really hadn't thought about until we were in the middle of them. Plan now before your options are taken away from you.

Experience right there with you but I have one paved road in/out. Our auxiliary route is the fire trail roads for 40 miles to go 20.

After 1 of the 6 evacs in 8 years without power, I put a quick connect in my propane line to run the Generator. 1k tank ought to last me a while if I am there or not. Not going to lose 2 Fridges and a freezer again.

I heard Kumala is going to be your next governor. Jees if the people of California elect her they deserve what they get. Sorry to sound rash but it's ridiculous the people that CA & NY think that this is a good thing! Come on people. Haven't you had enough yet.

She just made a statement that she would not run as governor for California.

Topic is Bug In or Out.

I could bug out on my 20a and have enough notice of someone coming my way.
Water may be an issue to have to go back to the house.
