Welcome to CSF. What type of upland birds to you hunt? Dove?I’m in Orange and will do a lot of upland bird now up in the desert and deer hunt in d8 area around black rock fire station. Have been trying to look for. Some turkeys but unable to find any.
I almost moved to Irvine once. For a while I worked for a company in Cerritos, and lived in Van Nuys, it was a nasty commute...I was working for the company in downtown L.A., and they moved me to a project that was done in Cerritos. Nice area, but a lot of traffic.I’m in Orange and will do a lot of upland bird now up in the desert and deer hunt in d8 area around black rock fire station. Have been trying to look for. Welcome to the forum, Paul! We’re all about keeping things respectful and helpful here, and we’re really glad to have you with us.Hi everyone my name is Paul and just joined the forum. Been hunting in Southern California but not quite sure what zones and how to get away from all the large groups who only have on person actually has a tag for the zone. But glad to be here.
You could be right, I don't know too much about Big Bear other than I've fished there and it's beautiful around the lake. Big rocks to fish off of, I've caught a number of crappie there. I've been to Lake Arrowhead a few times, but have never fished it. I probably have the most experience fishing Kern. I love those pan sized rainbows.Oh really the big bear area seems like it would be hard to hunt. I know there are quail around the arrowhead area. I’ve tried to hunt the big bear area but couldn’t figure it out.
You mentioned dove have not found a place here in California for them but go every year to Arizona to shoot them. They are very tasty.
