What Was Your First Handgun? Do You Still Have It?

I was reminiscing about my first handgun the other day and got a bit nostalgic. I picked up a Glock 19 as my first. Do any of you still have your very first piece? How do you feel about it now—sentimental, regretful, or just plain foggy? I'd love to hear your stories, and feel free to share a pic if you still own it!

My first ever handgun was a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag. With a 7.5" barrel. I loaded that thing HOT and HEAVY. I've since purchased two Smith and Wessons in 629-1 and 629-6.I baby the 629's though and don't load 'em hot. Ha, learned my lesson.

My first new purchase was a Colt Python, 6" nickel plated .357. She is a safe queen now.

My first gun was a Browning Hi-Power. I still have it, and I still love it. Since that purchase, I've bought about 4 more Hi-Powers.

My first was a 686-2 6". Bought it brand new for $325! Like a schmuck I sold it for under $200 when the wife (now deceased ex-wife...long story) coaxed me into a "self-help" weekend training. I could hear my brain screaming NOOOOOOO! I have since replaced it and added a 4" to the collection.

I found original receipts from 1977 a few days ago. They are old NCR receipts that have faded, and are now unreadable. I could not find any instructions on how to make them ligible. Don't know if it was a Ruger Mark 1 or a Ruger Security Six .357!

How about a Colt Police positive 32 special. Think the original Superman TV show, faster than a speeding Bullet.
It has a badge number engraved on the butt stock.

Got into handguns ownership late in life. Bought my first, Sig SP2022 (9mm) in 2012. Still have it.

I bought my 1st, an H&R 949-9 shot double action, 5-1/2" bbl .22 lr in about '83 at about age 16 for $90-ish…it was as loud as a 22 magnum and I sold it off soon as my dad gifted me his 6" peacemaker .22 convertible which I sold later with much regret….I did replace that with an identical Colt Peacemaker a few years ago. My longest kept handgun is a S&W model 58 SFPD which I bought in Va when I was stationed @ Quantico in about '91 or '92. I do still have my 1st gun received new for my 12th birthday in '78…not a handgun, it's a Savage 24 o/u 20ga/.22….sorry long ramble…

My first was a S&W Bodyguard 38 revolver with Crimson Trace laser. Hurt like hell to shoot, but actually shot really well. I traded that for a Rossi R92 .357 lever action with a 16" barrel (fun and excellent shooting carbine).

How many rounds does the Rossi hold?

I think 8+1, but I don't remember if that's 38 Special or 357 Magnum. It holds one less 357 than 38.
