I have a bad history with Robert Blake. When I was training at Vince's Gym in studio city, Vince Gironda nicknamed me, "The Rabbi", and Vince even made me a leather weight belt that says, "The Rabbi". I previously had one that said, "The Bottom Line", as I'm a bass player, but I left it in a gym in Tokyo.
Blake used to workout at Vince's, and he always carried a handgun in his glove box, I have no idea what it was, but he drove a Jeep at the time. I chased him out of Vince's, and because of that Vince accepted me as a friend.
Blake's pitfall was chili dogs...but many of the actors would go on binges and then go to Vince to clean up for a movie. James Gardner once took blood tests after Vince had him eating 1 dozen eggs for 2 weeks. The Carradines had the keys to the gym so they could use it at night, and one of them had a bulldog named Vince...LOL
Anyway, I believe Blake did in fact kill his wife. He had a horrible temper, I'm probably lucky he didn't shoot me.

Most of the folks that we not actors were stunt actors, lots of famous people frequented that little dungeon...it smelled like sweat and had mirrors all around...it was dark inside, and all the machines were hand made by Vince with pipes, pulleys, and leather. Some famous body builders were training with Vince, but Schwarzenegger was not one of them, in fact, Vince hated him and Draper as they took steroids. That is one thing Vince would never tolerate, if you used steroids, he would throw you out of his gym. Arnold never came around there.
