I'll never forget that early morning when I hiked about 3miles into some prime elk territory, all before the sun even thought about coming up. I found this perfect ridge to scan for wildlife and settled in, excitement buzzing in my veins. Fast-forward 2hours, and I’m glued to my binoculars, taking in this stunning valley. That’s when I reached for my rangefinder... and realized it was sitting on my kitchen counter, right next to my spare ammo.

A lesson learned the hard way...
