Poisons for nuisance animals is a real problem! It gets in the wildlife food chain and effects every animal. While I like poison effectiveness, it's wide ranging unintended consequences are unacceptable. IMHO. The same is true for most pesticides.
Unfortunately, there is no real "acceptable" levels of poisons we should be exposed to, but that train left the station a long time ago.
A feral hog so affected will wind up being a meal for ants to bears.
