When I was in the People's Republic, my collection was just a plain AR-15 that I had to take apart with a special tool just to clean, and a Glock 19 that I kept locked up at the range because heaven forbid I try to transport it without triggering a federal incident. Now, I'm excited to build my first real AR without stressing over grip fin angles or bullet button rules, and maybe even dive into some competitive shooting. Really glad to have found a place where common sense actually seems to win out.

I was at the range yesterday and talking to one of the Board Members, and I'm so glad I'm staying away from ARs, as it seems you can't even have a normal mag release. Although nobody has been charged, for AW, standard capacity mags, or evil features, he had a 22LR in AR configuration, which is allowed to have a 30 round mag and he had a compensator, which was just an extension, it was solid, no flash hider holes, no brake holes, it was a solid piece. I unloaded a mag fairly quickly.

I'm trying to decide between a Ruger Carbon or a Rossi lever action in 357 mag or 44 mag. The Rossi has a picatinny on it, so one could mount a scope (he had a red/green dot on his 22LR), but I'm not sure it would be competitive at 200 yards. I'm told they shoot silhouettes at 100 and 200.

He said he doesn't think the pistol brace injunction will stand up in court, in the end, but that members of the 2nd Amendment Foundation and Firearms Policy Coalition are covered in CA. Barrels shorter than 16" are evil also.

In this regard, the lever action would allow me to compete on Wednesdays, my club holds a lever action competition on every Wednesday. Either way I go, bolt action Ruger or lever action Rossi would not be subjected to AR technicalities.

I got rid of all my AR stuff years ago so not too have to put up with all the BS. Sucks.
I think I have more fun without having to deal with so many types of legalities with ARs. Bolt actions are just easier to deal with, and easier to make safe ammo, IMO, since you don't have to deal with seating depth changing as the weapon cycles.

I have a ruger pc carbine in a 9mm have a red dot on it the gun is just plain fun to shoot almost like shooting a 22 little more kick loads of gun you won’t be sorry breakdown is perfect fits I a regular size back pack.

Ship, Ship. What a load of Ship.
No matter, they are fighting the case in court. Unless you can do that, best to let them to their magic. They have overturned a lot of unconstitutional law in CA, and as we keep eroding these infringements, we will eventually whittle them down...The odds of getting a ruling in favor of the 2A is very slim in the 9th District, but eventually we can beat them, IMO. 🤞

This is a great home defense weapon! A 20 round mag for you would probably be appreciated.
