Another one bites the dust.

I've shot over there before. Although it was a fairly short range, you could shoot high power center rifles there. I've also paid some high prices in that place, so I don't have much sympathy for them. I paid the highest price on powder at that place. They had a reasonable price on some other stuff, an RCBS collet bullet remover comes to mind, still using it. Bet they get the top $$$ on any powder laying around. We still pay the extra 11%, if we can find any. I don't think that's a winning situation for customers. 🤷‍♂️

Agree, havent bought aything from them. Staff often gives off the vibe that you (customer) is messing with their break time. The range staff is another level .. prickly ... just skirting below the level where you want to call them out. Maybe they knew the closure was coming soo .. WTH ... to hell with this. IDK.

But yes, you could run high powered rifles at the 25 yrd range.

I don't believe it, but I can't order anything from MidwayUSA or Brownells, as of the 1st of the year for anything related to firearms. I can order a cleaning rod, that is not restricted, but even a 10/22 bolt buffer can't be sent if the address doesn't match. I have most of what I need, and my local FFL will sell to me with all of my documentation, but after buying 100s, if not 1000s of $$$s of product from them, I can't buy now. 🤷‍♂️

Trying to find out if Brownells or Midway can ship to my FFL, and I'll pick it up over there?

It won't let me ship 10/22 magazines or bolt buffer to me, as addresses don't match. And if you wonder why it doesn't match, it's because USPS won't give me a street address until I have the home final inspection complete.

Just got this.

This is the last indoor facility in the East Bay area. The staff has been a little prickly at best, but the facility itself was good.

Will have to drive down to Santa Clara for indoor sessions. Glad we still have a few good outdoor facilites ... For now.
Saw that announcement too. It’s a tough loss for the East Bay community. Indoor ranges are already pretty limited around here, and when one closes, it usually doesn’t get replaced. Even if the staff wasn’t the most popular, that facility filled a significant gap. Santa Clara isn’t the worst drive, but it definitely makes those spontaneous range trips a bit more challenging. At least we still have some solid outdoor options, although they can be weather-sensitive and don’t always satisfy the same craving as an indoor setup.

I’m curious about what everyone else is planning.... Are you sticking with outdoor ranges, heading south, or maybe looking into private land setups? It’s always good to share options when one of our last local spots goes away.

I use to shoot there all the time staff was kinda dry personality. I bought a couple of boxes of ammo stuff is high . Went there last week to check it out pick up 5 boxes of 22mag for 15.00 a box of 50 not bad . Lots of rifles left not much hand guns but some . My go to spot is Livermore great staff and great place to shoot . The one in concord willow pass rd is a lot closer to my home in Walnut Creek but I like the staff in Livermore so much more I drive a little more for that reason

I had looked around there a couple times. Lack of inventory kept me from purchasing, even something a simple as a sling. To big a building to pay the rent with sales.

Bought something at a place in Livermore (also in Castro Valley). Buying, pickup were great. Had a question the next day, the experience wasn’t as nice.

East Bay Firearms... ? WIth stores few and far in between, they get to do whatever they want, knowing that consumer options are limited and e-commerce is non-existent.

Solar, out by Vasco Rd. Decent selection. Good with adding other caliber purchases on to my pickup. Hard to find someone that has 12g sabot in this state even though they were 2 3/4 not 3 inch. I had a hungry mouth to feed.

There was another small one in Livermore on 1st that recently closed

Did a search, got the above. Clinking on the link took me to the Castro Valley location. Atleast we have an address :-) ... Looking at the map, there is an LL flooring in the vicinity ...

I was really trying to to say the good things about them. .

Day after pickup, I noticed the rifle did not have a ring around the barrel threads like the one I was demonstrated in store.
Trying to stay compliant. Can I add the muzzle break that came with it or should I cover those threads. No defifive answer.
I knew I “couldnt” add the origional handgrip, but how can you sight something in with a fin grip safeley?

CA laws are so wishy washy. Are unsafe to the handling of a weapon.. I am willing to not follow laws to follow my safety training to have my gun safe to my satisfaction, then I will convert it to their rules.
