When it comes to hunting or working outdoors in winter, what safety practices should you focus on especially when using gloves, slings and dressing in layers?
The key thing for me is trigger discipline while wearing gloves. I prefer to wear thin liner gloves under my heavier ones so I can easily take off the outer layer when it’s time to shoot. Thick gloves can make it hard to feel the trigger which can lead to an accidental discharge. Some guys go for fingerless shooting gloves but I find my hands get too chilly. Also remember to keep your muzzle clear of snow and check it often. A blocked barrel is no laughing matter!
