Would love to know what's everyone wearing this halloween season. Is that something range-inspired or something spooky?

Would love to see some pics!

I was asking my landlord if we even get kids for Halloween, and he said, never, and it wouldn't matter anyway as we can just leave the gave locked, our driveway is about 1/4 mile long... I feel as though I should leave some candy down at the gate, but there is probably none here. Too hilly and spread out...kids would be better in town...

That’s quite a long walk! :ROFLMAO: I think leaving a little candy at the gate is a great idea even if just one kid stops by.

We get at most 1 kid a year. I just turn off all the outside lights, and enjoy life without interruption.

It's a lot longer walking up! LOL I do it about once a week, but my landlord drives his 4WD to take the recycle trash down. My driveway is not as long, but it's about 125' from the road, and has gravel on it, currently. This place has asphalt. It's about 1/4 mile to my property, and about 1/4 mile up, so close to 1/2 mile. There's just not a lot of kids, it's mostly retired people, most with more coin than me. Even if they have grandkids, I don't think it's very attractive to take the kids...no sidewalks, no lights, lots of deer, turkey, skunks, and raccoons...and the squirrels are fairly abundant, as there were many walnut plots planted...some vineyards. I think it's bad that even in the cities many parents don't feel comfortable letting their kids trick-or-treat...

When I was a kid in Upland, we used to shoot gasoline in the pumpkins, blow 'em up with a fire cracker, or forbid a cherry bomb...we only did that one time...too much mess...LOL We'd write horrible stuff with soap on car windows...those were the tricks if they didn't give the treats...:cautious:

That actually sounds like a really calm place. That’s some serious dedication for a half a mile driveway. I’d definitely be looking for an excuse to take the 4WD too! 🤣

Yea why not mushrooms sound real good too thanks
Mushrooms are a for certain for me, I just got back from town where I had a mushroom burger...no Cowboy steak here, just a burger smothered with mushrooms...and garlic parmesan fries...

I locked the gate, bahumbug to any kids...but the guy who owns the sports bar in town grew up here in Buckingham, and he said kids don't trick-or-treat here, but there was a bunch of kids in town.

No, the driveway is only 1/4 mile, it's another 1/4 mile to my property, so it's 1/2 mile from where I live, not trying to exagerate...even this driveway is super long, it's like a giant flag lot, if you're familiar with them. I can tell you with certain, I may be 66 but if any kids hop the fence and do come up the driveway, costumes or not, they're getting some tricks! LOL

We quit buying candy a couple years ago when we only got two or three kids at the door, even though there are lots of them out, we are on an end where they cross and go the other way down the street, instead of coming up the street for one house. Now fortunately we don't consume a bag of leftover candy every halloween. Just kill the lights.

Yeah, in West San Jose, where I lived for 30 years, we had less and less kids each year. When we originally moved there in the mid-90s, there were a lot of kids in the area, but most of them have long graduated from high school and eventually people become less and less willing to let their kids even go out, as candy/food was being laced and had razors placed in stuff. What a shame...We had a lot of kids on our block, but they dwindled down and people moved out over the years. Yet another holiday we really don't celebrate...

I have live in the suburbs of Fullerton for all most 50 years. Last night was the first time we had zero kids at the door.
Never put gas in a pumpkin. In my early teens I would have given my best yo yo to be with you. I was the dog poop in a lit paper bag on the porch guy.
I am salivating on the steak thread.
No one mentioned the proper way to wash the steak down. 200 dollar bottle of wine. Taking daughter and sonilaw the night is going to be north of 800 bucks.
Coming back to earth. I'm going to the Costco Food Cort tonight.

Steve, I know there are many wine drinkers. I hope you will start a thread with the wines you prefer. I too have my own thoughts on the wine topics.
