Some of the traditional hunting rounds might be a bit tricky to track down moving forward. It might be smart to explore some alternatives before the season starts.

Ammo got scarce in 2020. In some different years before that. Since then I try to keep my supply dry.
My level vary upon projected use
I keep struggling with the 22LR, as I can't reload for it easily. Although I wouldn't use it to hunt with, it would be more for practice. I keep pondering just buying components to reload 6.5 PRC and shooting 50/month, instead. Won't provide competition, but will keep my aim up.

I'm down to the wire on my bear tag, it's only good until Dec. 28th (Sunday night). I'm gonna go out on Wed., it's been raining and is expected to rain all this week. I need to go down to Morgan Hill to trouble shoot a truck, but trying to wait until it quits raining. At this point I would probably rather spend time in the hills, hunting, than I would driving on the wet freeway.

With any luck, the ammo shortages are behind us, but I suspect they'll figure out a way to make them happen again. My advice, stock up on components while you can.
