Pump shotguns

After going through a couple of defensive shotgun and intro firearms classes, I was really surprised by how often people recommended pump shotguns as a “safe, no-nonsense” option. That used to be the job of revolvers LOL.

And now it got me thinking....has the pump sg quietly taken over that position?

Ok, for an answer from a hunter. Most people do not do the cleaning nessecary for a Semi auto for hunting. Their stuff jams up.
I am a firm believer that a pump functions better without cleaning .

Now apply that to defensive shotguns.

I believe the reason for shotgun recommendations is that most people can hit a target in a home with one. Pretty hard to miss with one...

Something that got drilled into me at a young age. "Take care of your stuff, your stuff will take care of you". Have applied that to everything .. cars, books, tools, knives and yes .. firearms.

Keep stuff is good working order, regular cleaning and maintenance. All will be good, you won't be second guessing yourself in a crisis.
