Welcome Max! Where are you located in CA? it's a big state.
I'm interested in how you layer and/or what you take out with you when you go hunting.
I currently have a long sleeve orange Carhart T-shirt, and a windbreaker I keep in my pack. This is not good protection in a severe rainstorm, but will help some. I don't want to take a rain jacket as it's bulky/heavy. I have one I used for sailing, and it's a good one, but too much for me to carry.
Can you recommend anything light that would compact well, that would keep me dry in a rainstorm?
