I’ve got a bit of a hog problem on my private property and I began setting up feeders to keep them around. Now the deers are now showing up non-stop. Is there a way to keep the deer away without completely scaring off the hogs?

I've never baited them, so not sure. Sounds like a good problem to have, though...😏

What are you hunting hog with?
Fair enough... it really turned into more traffic than I had planned. I’ve mainly been using a .308 bolt gun on the property, and I’ll pull out my 5.56 AR when I’m dealing with smaller groups or shooting at closer ranges. I’m still trying to sort out the feeder situation, but the hogs are definitely not holding back.

Grepper, I would like to help with your problem. Choosing the correct caliber would be the one I have.
I don't care for deer earther, but mixed with pig, we are talking a good burger.
I totally get where you're coming from, Steve! Right now, my main focus is on keeping the hog population in check rather than bringing deer into the equation, especially with all the seasons and tags to consider. But if it comes down to it, having a mixed freezer wouldn't be such a bad thing. Thanks for your thoughts!

I have seen a reciepe. May or may not be leagal to bait hogs.
Whole kernel dried corn, strawberry soda, hole in the ground. .

Take it as not tried and true bait,

I believe, baiting is illegal in CA, *UNLESS* it's on private land. I could be wrong about that, but it seems that's the case in CA, that you can bait them on private land. You most likely need to have permission from the owner of the property.
