Your handgun and rifle combo

If you were faced with the tough decision of keeping only one handgun and one rifle, what would your choices be?

Hmmm... Only one each.... Guess is would depend on the circumstance and what primary "threat" I might face.

Off the top on my head, my Beretta M9A1 and an AR or Min14.

Regardless of scenario, it would be my M9A1 but rifle choice could change depending if I need to primarily defend myself or hunt.

If I had to do both with a rifle, protection and hunting, that would make it a tough call. You have a lot of ways to go. Given the harsh laws in CA with ARs, I would probably stay away from those, as I would want subsonic for HD, but there are just too many laws to put us in jail over a firearm. 8.6 blackout could work, but if I was keeping a handgun, I would probably use that for HD, and pick a dedicated bolt action for hunting.

If it was Rifle/handgun I would want the same caliber, preferably same mag configuration.

If it was long gun/handgun I would take 12g/9m. Much more versatile for taking game.
