Welcome home KW! After I locked the gate, these deer did walk into the walnut orchard (to left) when I drove up the driveway. These deer can jump over that fence on the right to the neighbors...that band saw on the left side of the driveway is actually half way up.

Dug these out of my shop yesterday, and will try to get the Grendel out to the range. FWIW, I consider the 6.5 Grendel to be one of the better cartridges for the AR-15 platform, but it's been plagued with feeding issues on some magazines. On the left is 300 blackout, using a 110 grain CX, the middle is 6.5 Grendel using a 100 grain TTSX, and the right is 8.6 blackout using a 225 grain CX.
One thing I'd like to hear is if the following would be legal to use in CA with a pistol brace? I've been afraid to use anything with a short barrel in CA. This is 7-1/2 lbs as it sits for hunting pig. Konocti Rod & Gun Club uses the Sheriff range in Highland Springs, CA. I can often shoot by myself during the week, but would only shoot my bolt actions if anyone else is there.
