Are pistol braces illegal in Cali?

AFAIK, CA has its own set of rules when it comes to assault weapons, and they don’t always line up with the federal laws. Even before the recent changes from the ATF, a lot of pistol brace setups might have tripped the wire with CA's definition of assault weapons, depending on the specific features of the gun.

Sorry but it’s easy to see when you don’t have to be there and wade in the bs being spewed by the guberment. I feel for the people that are stuck working and having families there. At least the legal ones. Rant over now back to the regularly scheduled program.

Your best bet is to talk with a local FFL who really knows their stuff about compliant builds. They’ll know what’s being approved and what’s getting rejected.

Yes, they do. However, there was a ruling in Texas that covered both SAF and FPC members, so in theory if you're a member of one of those organizations, you will be grandfathered in. It is unclear how that will play out in court, but to date there have been no charges against any of the members for using a pistol brace that I know of.
