Spring spawn is the best season, but fall can be great too. For bait, I'd start with Senkos or topwater frogs around weeds. Check CDFW rules for limits, usually five bass per day.

Grab a medium rod, spinnerbaits or worms, fish near weeds or docks, and don't forget those bag limits
