I hope to bring some perspective.

I had a CCW in NY. Pretty darn tough to get there. Cant own a pistol without one.

I have found it impossible to get in the 2 counties I have lived in California. I can go buy a roster one and carry on my own land. California is easier to own, but impossible to get a CCW.

Depends on the county. I know San Bernardino County has opened up CCW's to not only residents, but to someone who simply drives through the county. My old partner now works for SB County, and it was necessary to hire 10 more full timers just to accommodate the new influx of residents requesting CCW's.

Yep I know. I bought a piece of property that the sheriff owns the cattle operation in back of me. Figure I will meet my new neighbor.
Already have my address up there. Just fixing it up til my wife retires.
Just like how I got my CCW in NY, judge signed it the day after reelection and my MIL was a town official.
It hasn't helped me here even knowing the Captain in charge of Court Security. His brother will probably buy my place because mine has all the game on it. Deer, Elk, pig, etc. Gotta keep the guns outa the hands of the crazy's in the city and leave us hill folk defenseless

Not to turn this too off topic. but there are quite a few lawsuits ongoing against counties that are still making the CCW process expensive and extended despite recent rulings. Some counties even restrict what you can carry. The State still limits where you can carry.
