The Walther PPK 380 would be on my list also. My Step-Dad had one, and the Sheriff took several fireams (Walther PPK 380, Colt Stainless with all gold plated parts, and a 20" legal sawed off and choked 12 gauge). I always thought the Walther was the finest CCW pistol, and my Step-Dad shot a person robbing their liquor store in Agoura. For weeks, people were calling the store and telling him to run for mayor...he had the PPK in his waistband while the perp was playing games with my mom. He lifted the 22 pistol up and turned toward my Step-Dad, and that was enough time to pull his PPK, shoot him in the neck and the hand that was holding the 22 pistol. He begged my Step-Dad to shoot him again and kill him, but he had called the police. The perp was a gang member and the LEO thanked my Step-Dad, as they didn't want to do the paper work...There is a reason that Bond had one in his movies, the Walther is the sexiest pistol to date, IMO.

Shortly after he got the Walther, I was robbed by a guy with a sawed off 22LR his had in his jacket. Very similar but my Step-Dad chased out after him and fired a round, but it jammed, it was a hollow point. Evidently the PPK is famous for jamming on hollow points unless the action is worked over. Our liquor store had a gun shop next door, which was kind of famous in those days, as Roy Weatherby used to frequent the shop and was good friends with Mike Bennett, the gunsmith and retired Sheriff.

AFAIK, you can only buy a PPK from a private party / LEO (LEO tend to buy/sell for profit in CA)

I totally agree sexy is a good way to describe the pistol

it really reminds me why I like German designers/architects. I own an '84 Porsche 911, and when I took a course to learn how to tune it up, I was so mesmerized with the quality of the parts, I wanted to and did start to learn how to machine. The Walther is a true work of art. It just screams quality!(y)

Speaking of a Porsche I saw one after my workout today it was beyond beautiful I don’t know exactly but it was a 465 speedster I think talking about lines wow wow I just drop the mic and walk away speech less

My only gripe with the Walther is the .380 format. Change it to a 9mm, and they would have an awesome pocket firearm.

35 yr ago i carried a Manurhin 380. i did not shoot it to much but i was a nice ppk clone and did not fail to feed or fire. I was able to have the long term use of a Browning 380, DA double stack with a safety. That was one of the nicest guns to hold in my medium size hand. shot like a dream and never failed. i would have bought that gun if i could have

I say none of them. What I mean is we need to abolish the roster.

Lot's of "new" handguns are on the roster. However, they all have CLI's and mag disconnect mechanisms (MDM). Some manufacturers, make the CLI's pretty unobtrusive and MDM easy to remove. Others not so much. All still carry the * in their sku indicating they were added after the ruling in Borland v Bonta (no microstamping). Too me, that indicates if microstamping becomes viable again, these SKU's could get removed.

So to add a gun to the roster now means it needs a CLI and MDM and may be subject to future removal.

Amen. I think it's on it's way to being abolished. We're at a very strange point in CA, but Newscum and Bonta are holding out as long as they can.

DOJ is on our side. Thankfully, Newscum is out this year. They are trying to stack the deck.

I didn't know, they have a way of bills passing automatically, without Newscum signing them, they just go into effect if he does nothing.

This is the ultimate violation on our 2A, and it needs to stop.

We should all be able to carry a Walther, and a couple of those Bond gals...LOL

The roster is yet another thing that should not exist, the whole microstamp BS is horrible. How can you enforce a law that nobody produces?🤷‍♂️

I did think it was funny that Shawn Ryan gave Newsom a microstamp handgun made by Sig that had microstamping on it...Newsom said he couldn't bring it into California because it was not on the Roster...you can't make this $#!T up...FWIW, just so some of you others know, every county is not dragging their feet on CCW. Lake County has been pro-issue for years. I previously thought it would be good to have a CCW, that way you can have loaded firearms in your car without having the ammo locked up. It's kind of a PITA with a pickup, but I carry an ammo box with a lock on it in the pickup bed when I go to the range, just to be legal. This is the worst state, period. Konocti Rod and Gun Club uses the Sheriff range, it's a beautiful range, pistol, 100 yard, and 200 yard, and well maintained...$50/year to join KRGC.🙏
